On May 8th, 2023, classes 6a and 6b, along with three teachers (Prof. Hörandner, Prof. Modritsch and Prof. Uranitsch), went on an unforgettable trip to Oxford, England. Beyond the famous University of Oxford with its many colleges, we explored the city and discovered its rich history.
To get to know Oxford better, we took a walking tour and learned about the old and new buildings that give the city its unique charm. We also met friendly people from different backgrounds.
In addition to sightseeing, we attended English classes at Oxford International Language School. It was fun to practice English with the teachers who were native speakers.
Highlights were our day trip to London, where we saw famous places like Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, Tower Bridge, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square and many more, Oxford’s famous Christ Church college, where Harry Potter was filmed, an escape room, where we had to escape from Oxford prison, a typical English afternoon tea and last, but definitely not least, punting. Punting is like boating in Venice, but we had to row ourselves. It was a bit challenging, but we had fun, especially when we started an unplanned race. Just be ready to get wet! We had a great time as a class, did cool things, and made lasting memories.
